Home of the GLA occupying a prominent position adjacent to Tower Bridge, and designed by Foster and Partners.
A highly complex geometrical design resulting in approximately 640 no. storey-height curtain wall panels, no two of which were the same size or shape.
The curtain wall system is an externally ventilated façade, having single glass externally and double glass internally. All external panels are openable to permit access to the cavity.
An internal openable panel at cill level provides natural ventilation to the offices, and the manual operation of this vent inlet activates the automatic operation of a high-level extract vent.
The bespoke, manually adjustable, intercavity blinds are manufactured from anodized aluminium extrusions.
