This major office development which is the UK Headquarters of ABN Amro Bank was the first of the developments on the Spitalfields site to the west of the Listed Market, and occupies a prime position at the southern end of the site.

The project-designed by EPR Architects-incorporates an impressive entrance atria with the external glazed walls supported by an integrated aluminium/steel bowstring truss system.

Office façades are constructed from prefabricated and preglazed aluminium curtain wall elements of typical size 8.4m wide by storeyheight. These elements-weighing upwards of 3000kg - were installed by tower crane onto adjustable brackets adjacent to the columns. Other notable features of the office façade systems are the aluminiumclad external columns and beams, and the 500mm deep extruded aluminium brise-soleil.

Blast enhancement of the glazing systems to the office areas were also a part of the client’s brief.
